Results of Far West Netball Association matches played at Thevenard and Far West Sports Complex on Saturday.

A Grade: Thevenard lost to Ceduna Blues 42-50

Both teams came out firing and the first quarter was hard fought on both sides. The score was even at the first break. The Ceduna Blues came out strong to be up by 4 in the second quarter but Thevy came back and at half time scores were even. In the third Blues capitalised on Thevy mistakes to be in front by 8 at the third break. Both teams were fighting hard last quarter but Thevy wasn’t able to pick up the deficit from the third quarter and Blues won by 7.

Best players: Thevenard; Elle Threadgold, Ceduna Blues: Kirsty Lewis.

Koonibba lost to Westies 23-61

Both teams played well, considering the heat. Westies showed that they are the ones to watch, once again, with their well drilled team. Koonibba left their run until the last quarter and was only outscored by four goals in the last quarter. Westies had a comfortable win.

Best players: Koonibba; Serena Gunter, Westies: Tracey Chandler.

B Grade: Thevenard lost to Ceduna Blues 31-62

Thevenard started the game well with some great shooting and court play, however Ceduna Blues, with a great depth of skill and versatility, increased the lead every quarter. Thevenard played hard to the very end - which made it a great game to watch. Thanks to players and umpires.

Best players: Thevenard; Natasha Stott, Ceduna Blues; Cindy Ettridge.

Koonibba lost to Westies 32-65

Koonibba with their young side fought hard all game, but with Western United’s more experienced players providing direction to their younger players, gave them a lot of encouragement and led them to a comfortable win.

Best players: Koonibba; Shenika Smith, Westies; Nyree Trowbridge.

C Grade: Thevenard lost to Ceduna Blues 13-54

Ceduna Blues came out firing and played a very consistent steady game. Thevy tried hard but lacked goalies and several key players. Blues defence was tight all game and it brought them out way in front. Well played by both teams.

Best players: Thevenard; Ali Pearce, Ceduna Blues; Kylie Blackham.

Koonibba lost to Westies 21-49

Best players: Koonibba; Martika Peel, Westies; Bec Bates.

D Grade: Thevenard defeated Ceduna Blues 1 32-26

It was a tight first quarter with Thevy up by 3, then the heat slowed the girls down, so at three quarter time Blues were in the lead by 2. A cracker final quarter from the Thevy goalies ended the match with Thevy in front by 6.

Best players: Thevenard; Colleen Nicholls, CedunaBlues; Rachel Mozol.

Koonibba lost to Westies 34-43

This game was even in the first quarter, with 11 all. Westies was the first team to settle and they built on to their score as the game went on. Westies had a good win.

Best players: Koonibba; Roxanne Ware, Westies: Sara Peak.

Junior A: Thevenard lost to Ceduna Blues 31-60

In warm conditions both teams took the quarter to settle their play. Blues goalies were shooting very accurately and Thevy were forced to make changes when Jessie McKenzie went down with an ankle injury. Blues with their height dominated play and won the game.

Best players: Thevenard; April Collins, CedunaBlues; Kate Thiele.

Koonibba defeated Westies 33-31

Just as we predicted, this game was close, with only one goal separating the two teams at the end of the first quarter - Koonibba 10 to Westies 11. In the second quarter, Koonibba settled and outscored Westies by 4 goals - Koonibba 20 to Westies 17. The third quarter was much like the first, with both teams scoring 8 each - Koonibba 28 to Westies 25. In the last quarter, Westies scored one goal more than Koonibba. Koonibba ended up winning by only 2. Well done to both teams.

Best players: Koonibba; Jacinta Haseldine, Westies; Georgia Sleep.

Junior B: Thevenard Black defeated Ceduna Blues 18-17

Very exciting game played by both teams, very enjoyable to watch. Thevy started out very quick off the mark and it took until the beginning of the third quarter before Blues caught up. Thevy played really well and came out on top by the tiniest of margins.

Best players: Not supplied.

Koonibba defeated Westies 47-1

Both teams played well and played within the spirit of the game. Well done to all players.

Thevenard Black defeated Thevenard White by 1.
