A Grade: Thevenard lost to Ceduna Blues 36-37
Conditions were not at all suited to netball, so the game was never going to be a highly skilful game. With the wind picking up before the start of the game, the side who adapted best to the conditions was going to come out the winner. The first quarter saw Thevy come out with a strong start, they were able to capitalise on their turnovers, and their goalies finished off well. Thevy held the lead at quarter time. Ceduna Blues came out firing in the second quarter and were able to turnover a lot more ball, and their goalies shot beautifully with C Carr barely missing a goal. An injury to K Lewis in the quarter slowed down their charge, but they stilled managed to take a small lead into half time. The third quarter saw Thevy again able to lift their defensive effort. Both sides had many turnovers with both defensive ends working hard. Thevy took a narrow lead into the final quarter. Things were going goal for goal in the last quarter until Ceduna Blues took advantage of an injury break to reintroduce K Lewis into the game and juggle their goalies around again. This proved to be the decisive move, with her combination with goalies K Brewster and C Carr proving too much for Thevy to handle. Overall Ceduna Blues were better able to handle the wind and adapt their game play, and ran out winners by one goal.

West Coast Hawks v Wudinna United
A Grade: West Coast Hawks lost to Wudinna United 34-38
Both an ill-timed strong wind and consistent determination from both sides kept the game extremely even. Despite the wind becoming increasingly stronger, goalies on both sides continued to capitalise on the opportunities, aided by some good feeding into the ring. Position changes at half-time proved to be beneficial for Wudinna maintaining slightly more pressure on the Hawks goalies. Neither team let up resulting in good court pressure. Exceptionally contested play from both teams gave spectators an exciting game to watch. Well done to both teams.
